The purpose of truth and reconciliation commission was to allow the people who have committed any crime to confess their past wrongdoing. The idea behind this commission was that if people spoke to each other about their wrong doing as fellow human being which would provide them an opportunity to heal and forgive others. This commission helped the white South Africans and black South Africans individually by getting a big feeling off their chest which carried a great weight and which they might be carrying it for a long time. On the contrary the racial discrimination between the black and the white South Africans reduced to some extent.
